SOCIAL MEDIA 4 SOCIAL CHANGE

Welcome to Long Island Sports Club-

Top 10 Revelations:

1) Everyone Has a Voice
"But I think what you have to keep in mind is that when it comes to social media, the individual is the expert." (Bough 267)

In social media everyone hold a large voice.

Everyone’s opinion matters and everyone has a opportunity to express their views.

Companies hold large voices that can have impacts on their identity.
2) Follow Your Followers:

A key part in being a company with social media is following the people that follow you back. This show that you care about your customers and make them feels good about your company.

Being a big social media user, I enjoy when companies I like follow me back, and it’s an even better when they reply to your tweet.

Following and replying can go a long way for your company. It’s also good for companies because it could allow for feedback, and positive criticism, which will help your company grow.
3) Celebrity Endorsements

Celebrities play a huge role in today’s world, and are huge role models to kids all over the world. A great way of attracting people to your company is by having a celebrity endorsement.

I believe that by attracting a celebrity that’s looked up to by kids will gain your company a lot of awareness.
Millions of kids have social media and are active users, and that can only be seen as a positive for a company
 4) False Advertisment
Giving out false information can result in severe consequences for companies.

When releasing false information about your company all it does is put your company in danger.

Consumers will not follow any company that gives out false information. Or even will stop buying products.
 5) Social Media
The power and message social media gives to society grows everyday

More and more consumers are joining social media and are following their favorite celebrities and company's

Almost everyone company has a social media account to promote their products promotions.
 6) Up to Speed
“If you want to get up to speed with social media, the first thing you need to do is get started with your own social media efforts. By that I mean create personal accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. These three platforms are the most widely used.” (Agresta, 87)

Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are the most common used social media platforms. These are used by many users to keep their information up to date

It is important for business’s to keep their social media accounts up to date in order to remind them about products and promotions.
 7) Privacy
“Privacy is foundational to American philosophy. Everyone wants it, we’re all entitled to it, and we should all strive to respect it as a guiding principle.” (Agresta, 55)

There is very limited if any, privacy on social media. Once you put something up on social media and the Internet it is up they’re for the world to see, and unfortunately it will never go away.

Be smart about what you post, because you never know what people will do with the information you post.
 8) Never too late to join
One thing about social media is that it is never too late to join the fun.

With the great success and given how big social media is, it would be seen as a disadvantage if a company didn’t join. Social media is something that will never go away, and not creating one will only hurt you in the long run.

With the millions of people joining social media everyday, its not going away, making it imperative for a company to join no matter how late they have been in making one.
 9) Engagement/Interacting
Interacting is very significant in marketing. Interacting can be used on all social media platforms.

This allows consumers to give customer feedback or a good tool for asking for help

Many companies like Uber use this tool for solving issues with their consumers.
 10) Marketing on Social Media
With traditional marketing, it’s easy to quantify what you’re investing in; with social media, the investment in people and conversation is much harder to quantify.”  (Agresta 76)

In social media marketing, it is much more easy and inexpensive opposed to traditional marketing.

With the help from top social media platforms of Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, social media marketing has grown tremendously

Companies now need to monitor daily tweets and share their products and promotions with consumers

Social media has greatly changed marketing
